ABOUT CURT HAGMAN, San Bernardino County’s Fourth District Supervisor
Curt Hagman was elected to serve San Bernardino County’s Fourth District in November of 2014. The Fourth District includes the cities of Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario and the southern portion of Upland. It spans approximately 133 square miles and is home to over 400,000 residents.
The Supervisor has an extensive resume of public service prior to his election to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. His experience began as a Parks/Recreation Commissioner in Chino Hills. In 2004, he was elected to the Chino Hills City Council, and served as Mayor in 2008. He worked on numerous regional committees and is especially proud of his past involvement with the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board, which is tasked with addressing major workforce issues in the county.
Mr. Hagman was elected to represent the California Legislature in 2008, representing the 55th Assembly District. He was quickly recognized for his leadership by his selection as Assistant Republican Floor Leader. He served as the Vice-chair of the Insurance Committee and was a member of the Rules, Business, Professions and Consumer Protection, Governmental Organization, and Accountability and Administrative Review Committees for the Assembly.
In January 2017, Supervisor Hagman was elected by his fellow Board of Supervisors to serve as Vice Chairman of the board.
Along with supervisorial duties, Mr. Hagman also serves on the following boards and organizations: Board Director Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Regional Council; Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP); OmniTrans; San Bernardino County Associated Governments (SANBAG); Commissioner of Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA); Chairman of SCAG FirstNet Subcommittee and California State Military Reserves.
A highlight for the Supervisor had been his role in the successful transfer of returning Ontario International Airport to local control in 2016. Supervisor Hagman was able to reach across party lines and work behind the scenes to reinitiate serious dialogue between LAWA and OIAA on the transfer of control that led to the final agreement. As one of five commissioners on the OIAA, he presently serves as Chairman of the OIAA Ad Hoc International Trade Committee.
Supervisor Hagman earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at UCLA. He and his wife Grace have two children; Jonathan, a student at UCLA, and Elizabeth, a student at Ayala High School. Mr. Hagman’s experience in local and state government, and as a small business owner, has provided him insight into the issues facing his constituency.
